WHY ARE STUDENTS NOT GOOD
IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE ?
English language is an international language. In IAIN Bukittinggi, one of it’s course is English Department. Most of students in English Department, their English Language is bad, because of they suppose that English Language is difficult. There are two main reasons why students not good in English : less vocabulary, bad pronunciation.
            First, the primary cause of students not good in English language is less vocabulary. Less vocabulary is where the students only have a little of vocabularies that they can use in English language. The first effect is short conversation in speaking. If the students have many vocabularies, they can do long conversations because many vocabularies that they have mastered. The second effect is a few of ideas in writing. If the students only have a short of vocabularies, so also a little ideas that they can wrote.
            Second, another factor that students not good in English is bad pronunciation. Bad pronunciation is how the way of students to spell a word in English. If the student’s pronunciation is bad, as a result receiver will don’t understand what the  speaker said. the conversation between receiver and speaker is a process of giving information. If the speaker has a bad pronunciation, so the information which is given by the speaker will be misunderstanding meaning to the the receiver. Consequently, the information was given by the speaker to the receiver can be fault.
            in conclusions, less vocabulary and bad pronunciation factors are the major causes of students not good in English Language. Therefore, students must have many vocabularies and good pronunciation in order to they success in English language.
